Reflecting on a Decade of Excellence

We can hardly believe it – a whole decade has passed since that fateful night in Colorado when Sam and Caitlyn, over more than a few cocktails, dreamed up the idea that would become Pico. What started as a conversation fueled by Rocky Mountain spirits has grown into a global digital marketing agency with roots in the Centennial State and branches reaching as far as Scotland.

Born in Colorado, now a citizen of the world, our agency has come a long way from its humble beginnings. We’ve traded mountain views for an international perspective, but we’ve never lost sight of the entrepreneurial spirit that brought us together that night.

Our journey has been fueled by a simple yet powerful idea: creating campaigns that resonate with real people, whether they’re in Denver, Delhi, or Dundee. This human-centric approach has been our compass, guiding us through the ever-changing landscape of digital marketing.

We’ve had our share of victories and challenges along the way. There were moments when success seemed as elusive as spotting the Loch Ness Monster, but we persevered. And here we are, celebrating ten years of growth, learning, and some pretty amazing campaigns, if we do say so ourselves.

Milestones and Achievements

Client Partnerships

Over the years, we’ve had the privilege of working with an incredible array of clients. But here’s the thing – we’re not your typical agency that takes on every project that comes our way. We’re proudly boutique, choosing to work only with clients whose vision aligns with ours. It’s not about quantity for us; it’s about quality relationships where we can truly make a difference.

From US businesses in B2B to Scottish charities to global tech firms, we’ve partnered with businesses that inspire us. We don’t just work for our clients; we work with them, becoming an extension of their team. It’s this collaborative approach that has allowed us to create magic, whether we’re promoting chocolate in Boulder or launching a fintech app in Edinburgh.

Our partnerships have taught us that behind every business are passionate individuals with real dreams and challenges. It’s this understanding that drives us to push boundaries and occasionally burn the midnight oil.

Team Growth

Our team has blossomed from two cocktail-inspired dreamers to a global team of marketing mavens. We’re spread across continents but united by our passion for great marketing and our love for our four-legged friends. In fact, with an average of 2.5 dogs per team member, our virtual office is as much a dog park as it is a workspace!

This canine connection isn’t just a cute fact – it speaks to the heart of who we are. We’re a team that values loyalty, enthusiasm, and the ability to adapt to new situations (much like our furry friends). Our dog-loving culture has shaped our approach to work: we’re always eager to learn new tricks, we’re fiercely loyal to our clients, and we know the value of a good walk to clear the mind and spark creativity.

Our team reflects the diversity of our journey – from the Rocky Mountains to South Africa to Scotland and everywhere in between. Each member brings a unique perspective, allowing us to create campaigns that resonate with audiences across the globe.

Our Heartbeat-Driven Approach

Here’s a thought: people are not robots. Shocking, we know. While others were busy trying to please the almighty algorithm gods, we had an idea: what if we created campaigns for actual humans?

This approach means really getting to know our audience – understanding their hopes, dreams, and what keeps them up at night. It means crafting messages that don’t just generate clicks, but actually resonate on a human level. Whether we’re targeting outdoor enthusiasts in Colorado, surfers in South Africa or whisky connoisseurs in Scotland, we dive deep to understand what makes them tick.

And you know what? It works. Turns out, people appreciate being treated like people. It’s a simple idea, but it’s made all the difference.

Looking Forward

As we peer into the future of digital marketing, we’re filled with excitement (and maybe a touch of healthy nervousness). The landscape is evolving at breakneck speed, with AI, AR, and a whole alphabet soup of new technologies on the horizon.

But you know what? We’re ready for it. With Sam steering the ship from Scotland, bringing a global perspective to our Colorado roots, we’re prepared to tackle whatever the future throws at us. We’ve got our thinking caps on, our creative juices flowing, and a stockpile of coffee  that could fuel a rocket to Mars.

As we move forward, we’re committed to staying true to our boutique nature. We’ll continue to be selective about our clients, focusing on partnerships where we can truly make a difference. We may be global, but we’ll always have the personal touch of a small, passionate team.

Thank You

To our amazing clients who have trusted us with their brands, to our dedicated team who pour their hearts into every project, and to every dog who’s been a loyal companion through late-night brainstorming sessions: thank you. We couldn’t have done it without you.

From the peaks of Colorado to the glens of Scotland, we’re grateful for every challenge that pushed us to grow, every success that validated our approach, and every relationship that’s made this journey worthwhile.

Here’s to another decade of pushing boundaries, creating awesome campaigns, and navigating the ever-changing digital landscape together. May your conversions be high, your bounce rates be low, and your coffee (or tea) always be strong enough to fuel your ambitions.

Visit Pico to learn more about our journey and how we can help you reach your digital marketing goals. Or just stop by for a chat – we’re always up for making new friends and swapping marketing war stories. If you’re lucky, you might even get to meet one (or 2.5) of our canine colleagues!

Cheers to 10 years, and here’s to many more! Now, if you’ll excuse us, we have a decade’s worth of memories to celebrate…
